St. Michael’s Mount,

Marazion, Cornwall

Phased programme of repair refurbishment based on a comprehenside survey of the condition of the castle, village and island for the National Trust. The exterior and interior of the castle (public and living spaces, visitor facilities) and staff accommodation in the village being upgraded.

The site, it's residents and visitors, the landscape, the buildings and their contents are increasingly vulnerable to extreme weather and rising sea levels. Following comprehensive research into current and likely future conditions, a multi-professional team is working with the National Trust on a ten year programme to support essential preservation and mitigation strategies. It is important that, when necessary, the Mount as a whole can operate independently and effectively with it's own sustainable infrastructure.
